Well, I uploaded some photos from Thailand today and the problem with UTF-8 encoding is still a problem. Irina1010 edited this topic 5 months ago. I refreshed multiple times and nothing changes Where the map should be is just a blank page with some blue dots from previous tags I put in that area. Have you tried going here and clicking on the tab for the map? And then refreshing if it does not work the first time? Initially, I thought is some "Panda" at the moment, but I tried multiple times each day for 3 days and nothing changed. What I notice now, there is no map, just a blank space. Try refreshing/reloading the Organizer page and going back to Map. I think it is part of the problem with many Flickr pages not loading in their entirety right away. When you try to move the photo onto the map, does a black circle with a backslash appear on it? I go to "Add your photo to the map" and go to the area of interest and drop the photo in the position. What is happening with the geotags? I am not able to attach geotags to my postings for a few days now. My tags page shows a number of encoding problems with other specific non-ASCII characters, but in most cases it is specific characters like Cyrillic М and р, not every character. My problem has been specifically with the capital letter À, and replacing it with lower case à fixes it. I have not had a problem with all non-ASCII characters - my tags with à, è, ì, ò and ù have been fine.

No, the problem is in all non ASCII characters. М, н (small) – (if they are at the beginning of the tag, but with a small character) Now there are problems in tags in the following Cyrillic characters (UTF-8): If so, are they the straight kind, not the curvy quotes? If the tag contains a space character, then they break. Are the tags with space entered with quotation marks around them? It looks like the problem is double encoding in UTF-8. The Cyrillic character "р" also breaks the encoding. If the tag contains a space character, then they break. So why would Flickr even have any non-compatible code? UTF-8 had been around for years when Game Neverending was conceived,

Still waiting for a reply and, even more, for a fix. However, after uploading a photo, part of a tag in Cyrillic or the whole tag simply disappears.ĭit is Suzanne edited this topic 6 months ago. We'll report back with updates as we receive them.Įxcuse me, but when will they fix it in time?Įdit: I do not see any problems with the encoding when uploading my photos. We have identified an issue affecting uploads with non-English characters in the metadata & have a bug filed with our engineers. Thai is also not being handled and this seems to be a general utf-8 encoding problem. It is more than just Cyrillic being affected.

But some tags are truncated, making further searches more difficult. I note that through the Flickr Uploadr application, the encoding works correctly.

Tech support said they knew about the problem. It seems to be related to the Russian language (Cyrillic). Katie_ko (staff) edited this topic 6 months ago. There is no issues in encoding in original photos' title/tags When I try to upload photos I get encoding errors in photos titles/tags. Encoding issues in titles & tags on Upload Page Is there a limit to how many photos can be submitted to a group? Why can't I see people I am following in the ios app?
